About
Lulani (Lulu) Mitchell-Oehlers is an emerging artist practicing in Perth/Boorloo, Western Australia. They take a multidisciplinary approach, with a practice that revolves around connection, kinship, and the human experience. They often go back to video, painting, and installation as their main mediums. Her work is introspective and curious, as she uncovers what it means to be living in this world and to exist in relation to other people, particularly their twin brother Kobi. They often insert themself into their work, presenting it from an autobiographical lens like a 'case study'. They aim to make work that is immersive, multi-dimensional, and acts as a collaborative experience. Her work is self-questioning as they decipher how personal experience shapes the way we move through the world. They enjoy texture, otherworldly ideas, mirrors, and everything bodily.
